The Remedy (A Song for Terra Two)

Every day I’m standing tall in the forest

Despite the rot that’s eating away at me

And I see my friends around in the forest

I can’t see if they’re shedding life like me

Climbing high I unearth material

Artefacts, I thought, of our existence

I wasn’t finding produce of a human birth

And then I thought perhaps this wasn’t Earth (as we know)

And you know it’s summer time and I’m living life in bloom

And the snow melts, bringing life because of you

Then the trees lean over to me and they whisper

And the trees lean over to me and they whisper (the remedy)

I was moping around when things changed (for me)

Thinking about just my forest was wrong

I was leaning down to feed the animals

The creature made a leap and it spoke to me

I was told that where they came from

We had been there once before

Their home they called it, well they called it Earth

And it burned so they watched and saw (the remedy)

Our blue planet isn’t our first home

But we are the worst ones

We are why there are burst dams

We didn’t learn this lesson from the first ones

They gave this message to you

Listen what they tell you to do

Take advice and it will come true

Don’t ruin, don’t ruin our … Terra two

We can see the answers around us

People already lean the way we should go

Give it space and it won’t die it will grow

Don’t let this Terra be the birth of our Terra three.

And you know its summer time and I’m living life in bloom

Because I’m happy now it doesn’t negate the coming doom

So the trees lean over to me and they whisper

And the trees leant over to me and they whispered (the remedy)
