Terra Two Illustration, by Anya Scout

We are in the year 3000 and Earth is almost uninhabitable due to the pollution humans have created.

During the years that have passed scientists have found a planet that they believe may be habitable as lifeforms have been detected; it is now or never so a group of scientists are sent to scope out the planet and see if this dream could be a reality.

While on Terra Two they find that the planet has very few hours of daylight. The landscape is dull other than specks of blue that populate the environment.

The leaves have blue veins and the rivers are a vivid blue unlike the water on earth.

They realise that this planet has naturally occurring blue dye – something that isn’t possible on Earth. They will need to investigate to see if this is safe for humans before anyone else can come to the planet.

To do this they track and follow a native species they find that lives off the plants and water. They appear to have turned the creature blue, much like shrimp turn flamingos pink.

They need to see what effects this has on the creature…

For the design of my creature, I looked at how different gravity, light levels, air pressure, temperature and planetary surface would affect an animal’s evolution.
